Fern
Natural forms meet mathematic precision in this paper sculpture of an architectural fern or ‘Palmette’.
The unlikely inspiration for this piece is the Earl of Lonsdale pub in Notting Hill, whose decorative windows I happened to walk by one day. A moment after I’d passed the windows, something clicked and I realised the cut glass floral motifs could form the basis for a design.
This sculpture is presented in an iridescent green ‘Peregrina Majestic’ paper, in keeping with its leafy appearance, and that bringing a touch of the outdoors and a splash of colour. The interplay between natural forms and geometric lines adds a sophisticated and harmonious aesthetic to any setting, making it a welcome enhancement to your living space.
I’ve always appreciated the interplay between freedom and constraint, organic and structured, and I’ve tried to embody that feeling in this piece.
The fern can be displayed framed or unframed.
Available in three sizes:
Small 30 x 40 x 3 cm framed £100
Medium 40 x 50 x 3 cm framed £150
Large 50 x 70 x 3 cm framed £200
